Things not to heat in the microwave

1- Eggs 🥚 in shell

If you happen to want to hard boil an egg, the first thing that comes to mind is to put it in the microwave with the shell on, without thinking that if the egg boils in the shell, it will form steam and will explode at some point during cooking. Therefore, you can only boil eggs without shells or with a hole through which the steam can escape during preparation.

2- Chili 🌶

Hot chili or chili contains a substance called capsaicin. When you put chili peppers in or on top of a meal, the microwaves cause this substance to be released. So, when you finish cooking and open the door of the device, your eyes will start to water in response to this released substance. If you are cooking hot chili peppers, after cooking, open the door of the microwave and let it sit for a while until these fumes disappear.

3- Grapes 🍇

Grapes, without knowing exactly why, are one of the few foods that cannot be heated in the microwave. If you put a cluster in it, you will notice that after a few seconds they will start to strike sparks and can even cause a fire.

4- Tomato sauce 🍅

Tomato sauces, in general, become thick without maintaining a liquid form, so if they are placed in the microwave to heat and they are so thick, they have no space for them to release vapors, which are essential for this process. So, since they can’t release the fumes, this can make the tomato sauce pop up and burn us.

5- Wooden 🥢 toothpicks

Wood, as we know, is highly flammable. Therefore, if you put these elements, which are small, in it, the microwave will cause a quick burn and can cause a fire.

6- Plastic 👝 bags

When using your microwave, keep in mind that there are special elements that are sold for microwaves, so among these, not all plastics are suitable for use in this appliance. If you use unsuitable plastic bags, you will only heat them up enough in the microwave that they can even melt.
