BRING THE SCENT OF ORANGES AND CINNAMON INDOORS WITH THE POT METHOD

Often we find bad smells in the house due to fumes produced during the preparation of meals or simply due to closed doors that do not allow air exchange.

For this, we use some commercially available perfume dispensers with which we can bring a good smell into the house.

But did you know that it is possible to bring the scent of orange and cinnamon into the house using the pan method? Well, yes! Let’s see how to do it together!

Method

The potting method is really easy and quick to try, because it only requires a few ingredients that you probably already have at home or at least easy to find. You will need the following equipment:

  • 1 liter of water
  • 2 oranges
  • 2/3 cinnamon sticks
  • a handful of cloves

So first you pour the water with the water into a saucepan and put it on the stove. Then heat the water on a low flame and also add to the pot two rather thick sliced oranges, the cloves and the cinnamon sticks. If you don’t have cinnamon sticks, you can also use ground cinnamon.

At this point, wait for the water to boil before reducing the heat and letting it boil for another 10 minutes, keeping it on the lowest setting.

You will see that as the water evaporatesa beguiling scent spreads throughout the house. However, in addition to scenting the kitchen, this pot can also be taken to other rooms or, alternatively, transferred to a glass jar that you can place in the parts of the house where the bad smell is most concentrated, and voila: it will be a pleasure to open the doors of your home!.

NB However, we would like to remind you that the mixture must always be warm to achieve an effective effect.

More tips for scenting your home

Although the potting method is considered a very effective means of scenting our home, it is not the only one. That’s why let’s look together at other homemade and natural tricks that can bring a good smell to the house!

Bay leaves

Let’s start with bay leaves, which can neutralize bad odors and bring a fresh scent into the home. Therefore, we first ask you to air dry a handful of leaves for several days by placing them on a baking sheet.

However, if you want them to dry faster, you can also place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper and put them in the oven preheated to 180° for a few minutes until you see that they have taken on a lighter green color.

Then just put them on a saucer that you place in the places in the house that are most susceptible to bad smells: and what a scent!

Fragrance blend

If you want a more immediate remedy that you can use when needed, then this is the do-it-yourself fragrance blend that you can spray at home whenever you want! So equip yourself with:

  • 300 ml water
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • 10 drops of essential oil of your choice

Then add the baking soda and drops of essential oil of your choice to a pitcher of water and stir thoroughly. After that, pour everything into a vaporizer and spray this mixture into your kitchen to absorb all the bad smells!

Salt and mint

A final, very effective remedy to perfume the house and absorb all bad odors is the use of salt and mint. While on the one hand salt actually has absorbent properties that can neutralize bad odors, on the other hand, mint is able to bring a fresh scent into the home.

Then, fill a small to medium bowl with a layer of salt.
