You need to be consistent in cleaning the house, especially in the bathroom and sanitary facilities which are very often subject to encrustation and lime deposits . There are endless chemicals on the market that can be used to disinfect toilets, but if you’re short on detergents or just want to find good eco-friendly alternatives, there are some natural methods you can try. Often the main problem is being able to whiten toilets , which can become stained very easily over time. So what can we do to make everything white and shiny like the first time we used it?
Vinegar and baking soda:
When it comes to “natural” products for home sanitation, vinegar and baking soda cannot be missing. The combination is certainly a winner: bicarbonate has whitening, sanitizing and abrasive power, while vinegar is perfect thanks to its descaling action. For this very simple method to be effective, simply cover the stains inside the toilet with a layer of baking soda, then pour in the vinegar and wait a few minutes. Once done, take the toilet brush and start scrubbing vigorously. Flush the toilet and you will get a white, clean, stain-free bowl!
The use of citric acid is very similar, and the reaction it has with baking soda also seems similar.
Bicarbonate and salt:
Bicarbonate can also be combined with coarse salt , which is used to disinfect and make water less hard. Mix 100 g of salt with 100 g of bicarbonate and pour it all down the toilet. Scrub the edges with a toothbrush and leave on for a few hours (overnight would be best). When you wake up, flush the toilet and admire the result!
