How to clean wooden doors?

Wooden doors, with their natural warmth and charm, can enhance the look of any home!

However, over time they can lose their original shine due to wear and dust accumulation, but don’t worry because if this has happened to you, here you will find the right solution.

Apple vinegar
Let’s start the remedies to make wooden doors shine with apple cider vinegar, a product particularly known for its cleaning and polishing properties, which, unlike its peers, has a much more pleasant smell.

For an effective cleaning solution, mix equal parts water and apple cider vinegar and pour into a bowl; then apply the mixture to the wooden doors using a clean cloth, wiping gently to avoid streaks.

Apple cider vinegar will act as a natural cleaner, removing dirt and restoring shine to your doors.

Lemon juice
Lemon juice is another natural remedy that gives shine and a wonderful scent to wooden doors.

It’s amazing how this citrus fruit can give great results when it comes to maintaining wood in general, which is why I’m going to tell you how to use it right away.

Simply dampen a microfiber cloth or soft sponge and squeeze lemon juice directly onto it, then wipe the wooden doors and leave for 5 minutes.

Rinse and dry thoroughly.

Olive oil
Olive oil is not only a polish, but also a nourishing treatment for wooden doors.

It is one of the most suitable and recommended natural remedies to revive the color of even very old wood.

Apply a small amount of olive oil to a soft cloth and rub the doors; leave it on for at least half an hour, then remove excess oil first with cotton wool, then with a woolen cloth.

This operation will not only restore the luster to the wood, but will also act as a natural moisturizer, which will keep the wood healthy and nourished.

Baking soda and Marseille soap
Baking soda and Marseille soap together form a powerful mixture for cleaning wooden doors.

Make a paste with 1 tablespoon baking soda and water until it has the consistency of a gel, then add 1 tablespoon liquid Marseille soap or melted in a water bath .

As you mix the ingredients, you will see that the consistency becomes foamy. You can then add 3 drops of an essential oil of your choice to give a touch of fragrance.

Spread the mixture on a soft, damp sponge, then scrub the wooden doors. Rinse with a microfiber cloth and dry with a wool cloth.

Polishing treatment
For a complete polishing treatment for your wooden doors, mix 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of olive oil.

Apply this mixture using a clean, dry cloth, using circular movements; then leave the mixture on the doors for an hour and rinse gently.

This treatment will not only remove dirt and marks, but will also give your wooden doors a long-lasting shine. For added shine, finish the treatment with a woolen cloth.
