The boiled water method for softer chestnuts that peel easily

Chestnuts are a symbolic fruit of autumn and can be enjoyed in many different ways. For us, classic roasted chestnuts are undoubtedly the best way.

But if there’s one really annoying thing about chestnuts it’s that they are very difficult to peel, especially after being cooked in the oven and therefore very hot.

Knowing the proper tricks will make this task much easier. Below we suggest the most effective ones, which will allow you to enjoy chestnuts without complications and without alternating their flavor and nutritional qualities.

The most traditional method (and also the most effective) is that of our grandmothers. To put it into practice we only need a pot and a knife.

Make a cut in each chestnut to make it easier to remove the peel. Then put some water to boil in a pan and once it reaches the boil, turn off the stove and pour in the chestnuts.

Wait about two or three minutes, then remove them and drain them well in a colander. Cool them under cold water and immediately afterwards you can start peeling them.
