Whisk eggs, milk and yeast in a small bowl

Step 1
In another bowl, add the flour, sugar and salt. Using your fingers, incorporate the butter into the flour.

Step 2
Add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture and mix well with your hands until the mixture is lump-free.

Step 3
Shape the dough into a large ball and place it in a clean bowl. Cover the top with plastic wrap. Let the dough rest for 2 hours, or until it has doubled in volume.

Step 4
Transfer the dough to the work surface and divide it into 9 pieces.

Roll the dough into a long thin rope. Then twist the ends around each other.

Step 6
Place the twisted donuts on a baking sheet dusted with flour.

Step 7
Bake the donuts at 30°C/86°F (yes, that’s the right temperature!) for 1 hour.

Step 8
Heat enough oil for frying over medium-high heat. Fry the donuts until golden brown on both sides.

Step 9
After cooking, coat them with sugar
