HOB: HOW TO MAKE IT SHINE
The secret of an always shiny Hob is not to use it. There is, of course, a certain irony to this. It is impossible to be in the kitchen without using the hob. Grease, burn marks, coffee stains, cooking water leaking from pots and pans… there are so many elements that a hob comes into contact with on a daily basis.
The concern of many is that the dirt often doesn’t go away and the shine doesn’t return. It is not even necessary to use expensive cleaning products, which are sometimes too aggressive for the aluminum in our kitchen. All you need is a very cheap remedy, available in any supermarket in one-liter bottles, a couple of kitchen towels and a bit of diligence. Are you curious what it is? A steel hob can be made shiny and bright again with the help of a single ingredient. It is a widely used ingredient in the kitchen and household cleaning that costs very little: no more than 0.50 cents per bottle for the cheapest versions.
We are talking about white alcohol vinegar, which is also commonly referred to as white vinegar. It is a solution of water and acetic acid obtained through a double fermentation. The first is alcoholic, the second vinegar-sour, carried out by bacteria from spirits, rice, fruit, but also malt. It is not excluded that white vinegar is often made from sugar beets.
To clean the cooktop, you’ll need a microfiber cloth and a kitchen towel in addition to this powerful ingredient. Pour the vinegar directly onto the aluminum hob. Spread it evenly with the kitchen towel. Then rinse gently with the microfiber cloth soaked in water. You will need another dry cloth to dry it well and prevent halos from forming.
If the hob is particularly dirty, you can pour vinegar directly onto the surface, and then wipe it off with a kitchen towel. Only a small amount is needed to achieve surprising results. Make sure you wipe well near the hob, as this is where the dirt is most concentrated. The cloth can also be wiped over the chimneys.
