The easy recipe for a popular dessert

Ingredients
FOR THE CHURRO
1 cup WATER
1/4 cup butter, cut into cubes 1 tablespoon SUGAR POWDER 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 LARGE EGG

1/2 teaspoon PURE VANILLA EXTRACT
ANY VEGETABLE OIL, FOR FRYING
FOR COATING
1/2 cup sugar powder
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon stick
Preparation
Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl and set aside.
In a deep skillet, heat 1 1/2 inches of oil until it registers 360°F on a thermometer.
Bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil in a saucepan over medium-high heat.
Reduce heat to medium-low and stir in the flour.
Stir constantly until a dough forms. Put the dough in a bowl and let it cool slightly.
Stir in the egg and vanilla.
Stir with a hand mixer.
Pour the dough into a piping bag. Pipe the dough directly into the oil in 5- to 6-inch segments. Cut the dough into individual churros with scissors or a sharp knife.
Fry for 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Remove from the oil and drain on a paper towel.
Roll the churros in the cinnamon and sugar mixture. Repeat until all the batter is deep-fried.
Serve immediately.
